The annual traditional boat races on the Nhat Le River sponsored by the central province of Quang Binh will take place during the week of April 26-May 2 as part of the Dong Hoi Culture and Tourism Week.
At a press conference on April 5, representatives of the Dong Hoi City People’s Committee said a wide array of diverse activities such as a food festival, art and music performances are planned for the week-long celebration.
“We are banking on having more boats and drivers this year,” the reps said.
“We also expect a much larger audience. “There’s free admission and parking. Bring your lawn chairs or tents and sit along the river and enjoy the action.”
There will be plenty of food, craft booths and cultural events for all members and ages of the family.
Le Van Phuc, secretary of the Dong Hoi City party committee requested governmental agencies keep the costs in line with last year and pay particular attention to food hygiene and safety.
